The Human Bond of Communication
Since I was a professor at the university, I have always been fascinated about how important it is to tell the right story and convey the right message to your audience. Public speaking is an ancient art, wired deeply into our minds. Archaeological discoveries dating back hundreds of thousands of years have found community meeting sites where our ancestors gathered around a fire. In every culture on earth, as language developed, people learned to share their stories, hopes, and dreams.
On stage, new insights could be discussed to generate empathy, stir excitement, share knowledge, provoke new insights, or even foster a shared dream. When the spotlight is on us, the human connection between the speaker and the audience is an indescribable feeling.
I also embarked on another wonderful journey, met amazing people along the way (who have helped me grow both professionally and personally) and won the Spain Championship in Public Speaking.
But that’s a story for another time…
